धूमो रात्रिस्तथा कृष्णः षण्मासा दक्षिणायनम् | तत्र चान्द्रमसं ज्योतिर्योगी प्राप्य निवर्तते
Attaining to the lunar light by smoke, night time, the dark fortnight also, the six months of the southern path of the sun (the southern solstice), the Yogi returns.
धूम, रात्रि, कृष्णपक्ष और दक्षिणायन के छः मास वाले मार्ग से चन्द्रमा की ज्योति को प्राप्त कर, योगी (संसार को) लौटता है
धुवाँ, रात, कृष्णपक्ष र दक्षिणायनका छ महिना — यस मार्गबाट गएको योगी चन्द्रमाको ज्योति प्राप्त गरी फेरि संसारमा फर्किन्छ
Those who depart by smoke, night, the dark fortnight, and the six months of the southern solstice reach lunar light and return. This 'dark path' leads to temporary heavenly rewards followed by rebirth—pleasant but not liberating.
