Bhagavad Gita 8.19

Chapter 8 · The Imperishable Absolute

This same multitude of beings, being born again and again, is dissolved, helplessly, O Arjuna (into the Unmanifested) at the coming of the night and comes forth at the coming of the day.

Context

This same multitude of beings, helplessly, is born and dissolves again and again with the cosmic day and night. Without self-knowledge, we're caught in this automatic cycle. Awareness of the pattern is the first step toward freedom from it.
