Bhagavad Gita 4.2

Chapter 4 · Knowledge & Renunciation

This, handed down thus in regular succession, the royal sages knew. This Yoga, by long lapse of time, has been lost here, O Parantapa (burner of the foes).

Context

Ancient wisdom can get lost when generations stop practicing and transmitting it sincerely. This happens in families, cultures, and traditions—valuable lessons fade if not actively preserved. Krishna is about to revive this lost knowledge, showing that truth can always be rediscovered.
