Bhagavad Gita 2.38

Chapter 2 · The Yoga of Knowledge

Having made pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat the same, engage thou in battle for the sake of battle; thus thou shalt not incur sin.

Context

Treating pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat as the same—fight for the sake of fighting, and you will incur no sin. This is the heart of karma yoga: act without attachment to results. When we're not clinging to outcomes, action itself becomes free and pure.
