Bhagavad Gita 2.36

Chapter 2 · The Yoga of Knowledge

Thy enemies also, cavilling at thy power, will speak many abusive words. What is more painful than this?

Context

Your enemies will mock your abilities with unspeakable words. What could be more painful? Krishna points to the sting of ridicule from those who wish you harm. While we shouldn't live for others' approval, being mocked by enemies for abandoning what we believe in carries its own weight of regret.
