Bhagavad Gita 2.14

Chapter 2 · The Yoga of Knowledge

The contacts of the senses with the objects, O son of Kunti, which cause heat and cold, pleasure and pain, have a beginning and an end; they are impermanent; endure them bravely, O Arjuna.

Context

Heat and cold, pleasure and pain—these come from the senses contacting the world. They come and go; they're not permanent. Krishna advises: endure them. This is practical wisdom for daily life—don't be swept away by temporary sensations, whether pleasant or unpleasant. They will pass.
