Bhagavad Gita 18.2

Chapter 18 · Liberation & Renunciation

The Blessed Lord said — The sages understand Sannyasa to be the renunciation of action with desire; the wise declare the abandonment of the fruits of all actions as Tyaga.

Context

Sages define sannyasa as abandoning desire-motivated actions; the wise define tyaga as abandoning attachment to results. The distinction matters: one abandons certain actions, the other transforms how all actions are done.
