Bhagavad Gita 1.39

Chapter 1 · Arjuna's Despair

Why should not we who clearly see evil in the destruction of families, learn to turn away from this sin, O Janardana (Krishna)?

Context

But we who can see the evil clearly—shouldn't we turn away from this sin? Arjuna argues that awareness brings responsibility. If you know something is wrong and do it anyway, you're more culpable than those acting in ignorance. Knowledge obligates us to act differently.
