श्वशुरान्सुहृदश्चैव सेनयोरुभयोरपि | तान्समीक्ष्य स कौन्तेयः सर्वान्बन्धूनवस्थितान्
(He saw) fathers-in-law and friends also in both the armies. The son of Kunti, Arjuna, seeing all those kinsmen thus standing arrayed, spoke this, sorrowfully filled with deep pity.
इस प्रकार उन सब बन्धु-बान्धवों को खड़े देखकर कुन्ती पुत्र अर्जुन का मन करुणा से भर गया और विषादयुक्त होकर उसने यह कहा
दुवै सेनामा ससुरा र शुभचिन्तक मित्रहरूलाई पनि देखे। यसरी उभिएका सबै आफन्तहरूलाई देखेपछि कुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुनको मन करुणाले भरियो र विषादयुक्त भई उनले यो भने
Even fathers-in-law and friends stand in the opposing army. Arjuna realizes this battle will tear apart every relationship he has. Seeing all his kinsmen arrayed for war, he is filled with deep sorrow and pity. Grief is arising—the first sign of his crisis.
श्वसुर और मित्र भी विरोधी सेना में खड़े हैं। अर्जुन समझता है यह युद्ध उसके हर रिश्ते को तोड़ देगा। अपने सब बंधु-बांधवों को युद्ध के लिए खड़े देख वह गहरे शोक और करुणा से भर जाता है। दुःख उभर रहा है—उसके संकट का पहला संकेत
ससुरा र मित्रहरू पनि विरोधी सेनामा उभिएका छन्। अर्जुनलाई महसुस हुन्छ कि यो युद्धले उनका सबै सम्बन्ध चकनाचूर पार्नेछ। आफ्ना सबै आफन्तहरूलाई युद्धका लागि तयार देखेर उनी गहिरो शोक र दयाले भरिन्छन्। दुःख उठ्दै छ—उनको संकटको पहिलो संकेत
